Lace day at Textile Art Center
Calling all lovers of lace! On International Lace Day, September 28th, Brooklyn Lace Guild and the Textile Arts Center are teaming up to host an open house to showcase our work. Join us to meet our members, watch lacemaking demonstrations, and see our finished work (which includes bobbin lace, needle lace, tatting, crochet, and more). Our co-founder Devon Thein will be showcasing a selection of exquisite antique lace from her collection and generously sharing bits of her extensive knowledge of lace history with visitors. For those who are interested in trying their hand at making lace, we will have a small bobbin pillow set up for guests to try a cloth stitch pattern. If you have been meaning to take a class at TAC or drop by a BLG meeting, or if you are simply interested in beautiful textiles, now is your chance to stop by and say hello!
