From September 12 to October 30, the Work In Progress residency at the Textile Arts Center will feature Tachi Tachi, an innovative printing project by TAC Alumni Hannah Schultz and Anne-Marie Lavigne. Best kept secret of made in Brooklyn design, Tachi Tachi will be launching its bold color-changing textiles for fashion and home.
The Work in Progress residency at the Manhattan studio of the Textile Arts Center, is a window into the studio practice of contemporary artists and designers that engages the public in a dialogue with the field of textiles.
During Textile Trek, Tachi Tachi will teach the basics of screen printing during four 2-hour workshops. Participants of all ages will have the opportunity to layer patterns and colors to create their own patches, totes or tea towels using Tachi Tachi designs. All materials will be provide, though participants are welcome to BYOTee or any substrate they would like to print.
