For New York Textile Month, Jeannine Han will host an open studio visit accompanied by an artist talk on September 17th and 18th. Participants are welcome to view and discuss her multiform textile works currently being developed in her studio as well as older works. The studio visit will include an artist talk at scheduled intervals covering her on-going research project in cultural textiles and sculpture. A dialogue between material and process as a way of conceptualizing ideas will be shown through involving sensor-embedded clothing and sculpture films-- streaming images of textiles. A discussion about the narratives within the film will follow with a focus on subject matters such as the decorative, the private, and memory to recuperate their dissolved cultural meaning.
September 17th and 18th -- open studio hours are from 1pm - 4pm, Artist Talk 1pm and 3pm
