Visiting Times: Saturday and Sunday, September 17 & 18 from 1 to 4 pm
Open house with several experienced weavers available to talk to visitors about the Center and the weaving process, including works in progress. Some weavers will be available for informal weaving demonstrations on works in progress and 3 looms will be dressed and available for visitors to experience weaving themselves. Each day at 2:30 pm there will be a 30-minute formal demonstration of how to dress a loom.
The Weaving Center in Tarrytown, NY is a non-profit community center that was established nearly 40 years ago by Sister Bianca Haglich of Marymount Convent to encourage the artistic us of fibers in general and weaving in particular. The Center has more than 20 floor looms and provides weaving instruction on an individual basis and in workshops. Beginners as well as experienced weavers are most welcome.
