TALKING TEXTILES is a full-day seminar to talk about textiles for fashion and interiors – exploring the important trends, fabrics, yarns and techniques for the seasons to come. Hosted by Lidewij Edelkoort, Dean of Hybrid Studies and featuring a long list of inspiring speakers, this seminar seeks to promote textile education and celebrate September as the first ever New York Textile Month!
Founded in Lower Manhattan in 1988, the Children’s Museum of the Arts provides authentic hands-on art experiences for children, both in its art-filled museum and in the community. CMA’s mission is to introduce children and their families to the transformative power of the arts by providing opportunities to make art side-by-side with working artists.
Using self-made sukumo, BUAISOU creates a fermenting vat following an ancient recipe called Jigokudate. In conjunction with New York Textile Month, BUAISOU Brooklyn hosts an open studio and Fresh Leaf Dyeing Workshops on Sunday September 18, 1-5pm.
