Reined In – A Solo Exhibition by Natale Adgnot

Peep Space gallery in Tarrytown, NY presents "Reined In", a solo exhibition of new soft sculpture and fiber works by Natale Adgnot. Sourced from her ongoing Saddle Couturage series, these works draw on immigration, class mobility, and the constant recalibration of identity across cultures. Expanding on earlier work, she builds larger, more intricate forms from autobiographical materials—leather, garments, horsehair, and kimono silk—foregrounding how a plus-sized body is disciplined, aestheticized, and made to “fit.” A central cluster of bound, swelling sculptures anchors the gallery.

Opening Reception: Saturday, September 19

5:00 PM - 8:00 PM

On view: September 19 – November 1, 2026

Gallery hours are Saturdays and Sundays from 12-4pm.

Natale Adgnot is a sculptor who combines garments, thermoplastic, and various fibers to create abstract sculptures. Focusing on the connotations of each material, she layers high- and low-brow elements to tell the cross-class and intercultural story of her life. The daughter of a horse trainer, Adgnot was raised in Texas and immigrated to France in her 20s, eventually becoming a dual citizen. While living in Paris, she studied fashion. Her experience making garments for haute couture runways led her to focus on sculpture. Later, while living in Japan, she began using thermoplastic to work three-dimensionally. Her mediums include textiles, horsehair, and other materials that signify all of these places.
